What Is a PRP Treatment?

Microneedling treatments with PRP employ Platelet Rich Plasma to revitalize the skin’s contours and overall texture. This non-surgical procedure involves separating out the PRP from the patient’s blood using a centrifuge and then injecting it back into the skin. The ultra-thin needles used are virtually painless.

The growth factors found in the PRP solution activate the skin’s natural repair process. This translates to new stem cell growth, a boost in collagen production, and increased blood circulation. Treatment results in the dissipation of wrinkles, discoloration, and age spots, leaving the patient with a smoother and more radiant complexion.

What Will My Procedure Entail?

The first step is to draw blood from the arm. Platelets are then extracted from the blood sample by way of an advanced centrifuge designed to isolate the protein-rich growth factors. As the platelets are being harvested, a topical numbing agent is applied to the face. The PRP serum is then spread over the skin’s surface and a microneedling pen is used to ensure that the PRP fully penetrates the pores.

Recovery

Following a PRP facial, it is normal for patients to experience some skin tenderness and redness in the face. However, this usually fades away within a few hours. As this treatment is a non-surgical alternative to plastic surgery, patients can quickly resume their normal routines. Results can be seen within a few weeks and will continue to evolve over the course of 6 months. Changes can last up to 18 months with the proper skincare routine. Patients can undergo a PRP facial at least once a year to maintain their fresh new glow.

I have had the best experience with Dr. Przylecki. I literally couldn't have asked for better. His staff is excellent; very friendly. My expectations were definitely exceeded and I would recommend Dr. Przylecki to anyone!
