How is Treatment Performed?

Juvederm treatment sessions are quick and painless, typically lasting from 20-30 minutes. The skin can be numbed with a topical anesthetic, and some Juvederm formulations come with built-in lidocaine. Your provider will carefully and precisely inject the treatment points while you sit or lie down. Ice can be applied afterward to help minimize any skin tenderness. Many patients undergo Juvederm injections over their lunch break.

After Juvederm

Juvederm injections are non-surgical and non-invasive, so patients can expect to resume their normal routines right away. Mild side effects include tenderness, redness, or swelling at the injection sites. These symptoms typically dissipate within 24 hours. Patients undergoing Juvederm should avoid the following for the first day: direct exposure to the sun; strenuous exercise; consuming alcohol; and wearing makeup. Results with most Juvederm products last 12-18 months.
